The Celestial Earth hosted its 12th Year Foundation Day Conference, "Pathways to Resilience: Climate Adaptation & Nature-Based Solutions," on 9th January 2025 in New Delhi.

Session 1: Adaptation Planning & Financing, moderated by Dr. Anindya Bhattacharya (Celestial Earth) and the session featured esteemed speakers Shri Brij Mohan (ADB), Shri Vivek Adhia (BCG), Shri Siddhant Malhotra (GIZ), and Shri Shubhashis Dey (SoSuL).

The panel underscored the pressing need for a national adaptation plan in India, emphasizing financing and implementation challenges. Key discussions included standardizing adaptation cost assessments, integrating circular economy principles, and addressing the complexities of quantifying adaptation benefits. The panel also highlighted the pivotal role of Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) in mobilizing finance, innovative last-mile funding mechanisms, and the development of an adaptation project taxonomy as critical steps for building climate resilience and preparedness.
